Sad news regarding Imasaver

April 23rd, 2021 at 04:44 pm

Many on this site will remember the blogger Imasaver - real name Julie.  Sadly, Julie passed away on April 5, 2021 after a long illness.  She blogged here almost daily for a decade, wisely sharing her many tips and practices for making the most of her finances.  She was an inspiration to many readers who were just beginning on this path of setting goals and achieving them.  As one small example - she was proud to color her own hair so that she could splurge on the joy of driving a Corvette.

I remember how in love she was with her husband of many years, and how much she admired his work ethic. She also loved and spoiled her small dogs and was a huge Elvis fan.

She never hesitated to help anyone with encouragement and advice, and she was a constant presence among us.  I have missed her voice and am deeply saddened that she has passed on.  I hope that she did not suffer and is now at peace.

I also hope the administrators of this site will let her husband know how much she was loved here. She left a great trove of her daily life and thoughts in her blog posts, and he may not be aware of this.  I hope this will be shared with him as a lasting memory of their time together and that it will be a comfort with all its homey details and her great love for him.

If any of you have memories of her to share, please celebrate her life with all of us.

Julie was like the backbone of our little community here. She was always positive and obviously took such joy in her life. She loved her husband, loved eating out in her favorite places, loved a party, and loved all her frugal wins. She was a delight. She will be very much missed.

I enjoyed reading all of her blogs. She was very consistent about posting which I loved, you could always count on something interesting to read from her. She had such a happy outlook on life. She was truly the backbone of this site when I first joined & for many years after. I know her family must be feeling a tremendous loss. My condolences to them.
